WHAT TO EXPECT FROM CONSULTING

& COUNSELLING

INDIVIDUAL SPORT PSYCHOLOGY AND EDUCATION CONSULTING

The initial session for sports psychology and athlete, career and education would consist of a full assessment utilising a self developed athlete intake assessment form. This allows me to gain a holistic understanding of your progress within sport and education, and helps us develop a pathway for your future development in both areas.

Providing you are satisfied with the pathway for sports psychology training we would sign a client contract (which outlines the boundaries of coaching) and conclude by deciding on a time-frame for undertaking coaching that fits into your lifestyle.

GROUP SPORT PSYCHOLOGY AND EDUCATION PRESENTATIONS

Group coaching consists of one off tailored sessions or a series of presentations that build on the skills of a previous session. Discussions between me and the individual arranging the sessions within a sports organisation, would establish the location, topics and structure that would be most effective. A program would then be constructed and delivered at your convenience.

GENERAL COUNSELLING

General counselling would begin with me clearly explaining the structure of the sessions and explain the counsellor-client contract that would be in place. This discussion would include the boundaries and expectations of counselling and provide you with a clear understanding of my theoretical approach to counselling. I would also explain areas such as, confidentiality, record keeping, limits of counselling and expectations.

Providing you are happy with the structure of counselling, the contract will be signed by both parties and exploration into the presenting issue(s) will begin. If required, further sessions would be arranged on conclusion of the counselling appointment.

  • All individual sessions for both sport & performance and general counselling are for 1 hour, unless agreed otherwise with the client, and cost $110. Prices of  group sessions is dependent on group sizes.

  • Individual consultations are held at my office, which is safe, comfortable and discreet.

  • Sport and performance client consultations can be undertaken by phone or Skype, if an athlete is performing interstate or overseas.

Note: Full fees apply although some private health funds offer rebates to individuals utilising the services of a registered counsellor.
